Stevie Wonder

Stevie WonderStevland Haraway Morris (ne Judkins) was born on the 13th of May 1950. He is best known as Stevie Wonder and is considered as a pioneering musician, and has had an influencer on musicians from different genres, from rhythm and blues to jazz to gospel, soul and jazz. The use of synthesizers in the 1970s by Stevie Wonder as well as other electronic musical instruments created R&B virtually a one-man-show. The musician also contributed to bringing these styles into the album era by crafting his albums to be cohesive and consistent, and also incorporating explicit statements about social consciousness with intricate compositions. Wonder was born blind shortly after his birth, was signed by Motown's Tamla label aged 11. The label gave him the title of professional Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's success on the critical scene was at its height during the 1970s. His "classic period" started in 1972 and it was when he released Music of My Mind. Talking Book featured "Superstition" which is one of the most well-known and distinctive sounds of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. His works Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness"First Finale (1974) as well as Songs in the Key of Life (1976) all were awarded the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. He is the tied-record holder for the most albums of the Year wins, with three. Wonder is the only artist to be awarded the award for Album of the Year with three consecutive albums. Wonder's "commercial period" began in the 80s. He had his greatest successes and most acclaim with increased album sales, charity participation, and high-profile collaborations.
