
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She is also the captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division for professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained America's women's national soccer squad along with Megan Rappinoe. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at first place in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time and was the youngest member of the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and provide 20 assists within the same year, making her the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
